Franchisee Selection.

• Q. What does Sportzing consider to be the single most important quality that XYZ franchisee needs to possess?
  A. A great attitude.
• Q. What qualifications do you need to become a Sportzing franchisee?
  A. Qualifications are not necessary to own your own Sportzing franchise as full training is provided in the beginning and also ongoing. You simply need to have a good work ethic and be a handy sort of person.

Training & Operations

• Q. Do Sportzing franchisees have to pass training? If not, why?
  A. We are careful in our training to go at the pace of the new trainee, you will be taught all aspects of the Sportzing business including management, administration and on the tennis court training.
• Q. Can the sportzing training be extended if a trainee is not competent by its completion?
  A. Yes
• Q. When is the next Sportzing training course for new franchisees?.
  A. The training is ongoing and on a needs basis. As new franchisees come on we progress through the training course.
• Q. Where is the training held?
  A. Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
• Q. Are travel and accommodation costs included in the training fee?
  A. The purchase cost of a new franchise covers all franchise costs involved in setting up your new franchise business, however the travel and accommodation for training is covered by the franchisee, there is also a $1,200 refundable machinery deposit.
• Q. Is Sportzing dedicated full-time to this franchise business? If not, what other business interests do they run?
  A. The running and support of Sportzing is our full time job.
• Q. Is the stock purchased from Sportzing? If so, is there a right to use other suppliers?
  A. We have almost all products and items you will need to run your new business, if we don’t have a particular item we will help you get it.

Growth

• Q. As Sportzing grows, will opportunities exist for franchisees to enter the management structure, should they acquire or posses the necessary skills?
  A. No.
• Q. Does Sportzing plan to expand overseas?
  A. No this is not in our plans.

• Q. What emphasis is placed on research and development?
  A. Ongoing development of all areas of the business
• Q. Are franchisees required to provide the full range of products / services?
  A. No, you are able to receive stock as you require it.

Marketing & Competition

• Q. Who are the main competitors to XYZ?
  A. None specifically, however there are some small time operators in places in Australia.
• Q. In relation to these competitors, where does Sportzing believe they are currently placed in the market?
  A. First place.
• Q. Does the Sportzing franchise system offer advantages over its competitors?
  A. Yes, Branding, years in the game and our University tested machinery.

Finance

• Q. Does XYZ have any special arrangements with banks or lending institutions, which may benefit the franchisee ?
  A. No.
• Q. Please itemise in dollar terms the cost of purchasing a Sportzing franchise?
  A. $49,950, this is a walk-in purchase price which includes everything you might need to operate your business including uniforms, brochure, equipment, sign-written trailer etc. The Sportzing business is a proven franchised business that has been operating successfully for 25 years.

Administration

• Q. Are there any restrictions on a Sportzing franchisee selling their business in the future?
  A. None except the normal exclusion of servicing tennis courts for 2 years in the territory after the sale.
• Q. What are the costs involved if I want to sell my business?
  A. A payment of 20% of just the capital gain you might make over the purchase price or $2,000. This is to cover the costs and disruption that is brought about by a sale.
• Q. What is the initial Sportzing franchise term? franchise?
  A. 5 years x 5 years.
• Q. What renewal terms are available after that?
  A. Provided there is compliance to the franchise system, normally a re-renewal of 5 years x 5 years.
• Q. What charges or restrictions are placed upon renewal?
  A. $1,000 for Legal fees in the re-issuing of a new agreement.

Other

• A. What are the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing an existing franchise territory as opposed to purchasing a new territory?
  A. There is a higher purchase cost for an existing franchise however it also comes with an existing turnover.
